BEHIND THE COFFEE

BEHIND THE COFFEE

Sustainabilty

The commitment to sustainability has two areas with different scopes:

First, to ensure that the environment is respected through good practices, stipulated in ISO 14001, as is the case of the National Coffee Research Centre (Cenicafé), its experimental stages, and the lyophilized coffee factory, Buencafé.

Second, in the growing of Colombian coffee, the coffee grower is to be empowered to make coffee, in the short, mid and long term, a profitable and productive business, working harmoniously with the environment and contributing to the social development of the communities.

This proposal generates an important positive impact, directly benefiting the 540,000 Colombian coffee producing families, the rest of the population, as well as the environment.

AGRONOMIC MANAGEMENT

Coffee cultivation and agronomic management require a high dose of professionalism and dedication in activities such as agronomic management, harvesting and post-harvest. The cupping profile of Colombian coffee is given thanks to the varieties that are grown and also to the other practices such; integrated management of weeds, appropriate fertilization schemes to the needs of the crop, efficient and timely management of pest and diseases, to result the best coffee in the world. The quality of the coffee, given from the crop is defined in the post-harvest process and is reflected in the cup.

Postharvest

This is an important stage as agronomic management, a fundamental stage that includes multiple steps and special care to obtain as a result, an excellent quality coffee, which represents us around the world.
