Year-to-date Colombian coffee production falls slightly

• Exports maintain a good pace; in the last 12 months they increased 3%.


As result of heavy and constant rains in much of the country, year-to-date Colombian coffee production fell 2%, reaching 12.6 million bags compared to the 12.9 million bags harvested between January and November 2016.

In November the coffee harvest decreased 349,000 bags, by falling from 1.65 million 60-kilo bags in the eleventh month of 2016 to 1.3 million bags.

And in the last 12 months (December 2016-November 2017), the coffee harvest was 13.96 million bags, a 3% decrease in comparison with 14.37 million bags produced in the same period of the previous year.

Year-to-date exports grow 3%

Year-to-date Colombian coffee exports were 11.8 million bags, 3% up from the 11.4 million bags exported in the same period of the previous year.

In November coffee exports decreased 12% compared to the same month of 2016, and in the last 12 months (December 2016-November 2017) exports exceeded 13.2 million bags, a 5% increase versus the nearly 12.6 million bags in the same previous period.
