Colombian coffee production reaches 14.4 million bags in last 12 months

Colombian coffee exports were nearly 1.3 million 60-kg bags in November, a 12% increase compared to the 1.1 million 60-kg bags exported in November 2015.


Colombia, the world’s largest producer of mild washed Arabica coffee, produced a total of 14.4 million 60-kg bags during the last 12 months (December 2015-November 2016), a 4% increase compared to the 13.8 million bags produced during the same previous period.

So far this year (January-November), the coffee crop surpassed 12.9 million bags, 2% up from the 12.7 million bags produced between January and November 2015.

In November, Colombian coffee production was nearly 1.7 million 60-kg bags, a 25% increase compared to the 1.3 million bags produced in November 2015.

Exports rise 12% in November

Colombian coffee exports were nearly 1.3 million 60-kg bags in November 2016, a 12% increase compared to the 1.1 million 60-kg bags exported in November 2015.

During the last 12 months (December 2015-November 2016), coffee exports were 12.5 million bags, a 0.5% decrease compared to the nearly 12.6 million bags sold abroad in the same previous period.

Between January and November 2016, Colombian coffee exports reached 11.3 million bags, a 2% decrease compared to the 11.5 million bags exported during the same previous period.
