Colombian coffee production reaches 14.3 million bags in last 12 months

Within estimates of the FNC, coffee exports exceeded 13.4 million bags, 8% up from the same period of 2016.


In the last 12 months (November 2016-October 2017), coffee production in Colombia, the world’s largest producer of mild washed Arabica coffee, was 14.3 million 60-kg bags, a 2% increase compared to the same previous period.

So far this year (January-October), coffee production exceeded 11.3 million bags, 1% up from that registered during the same period previous.

In October, production fell 23% from 1.4 million bags in October 2016 to 1.1 million bags.

Exports grow 8% in last 12 months
In the last 12 months (November 2016-October 2017), coffee exports exceeded 13.4 million bags, an 8% increase from the nearly 12.4 million bags exported in the same previous period.

Year-to-date coffee exports surpassed 10.6 million bags, 6% up from almost 10.1 million bags exported in the same period of the previous year.

In October coffee exports reached 1.16 million 60-kg bags, a 6% drop from 1.23 million bags in October 2016.
