Café de Colombia, in the spotlight at World of Coffee Amsterdam

In the spotlight of Portrait Country, Café de Colombia played a leading role in several spaces that gave it great visibility.

Café de Colombia was highlighted at World of Coffee, the most important coffee fair in Europe, which took place in Amsterdam, Holland.

This year’s edition was attended by 11,000 industry professionals, 38% up from the 2017 edition, which took place in Budapest. And Café de Colombia’s participation was a success.

In the spotlight of Portrait Country, Café de Colombia played a leading role in several spaces that gave it great visibility, showcasing diversity, quality and social impact of the coffee grown by over 540,000 families in the country.

Among the most visible spaces were the official opening of the event, in which Juan Valdez was present, and the Café de Colombia booth, which served 3,900 cups of coffee.

Also, with cup tastings, differentiated coffee origins from several regions of the country were shown, highlighting the great diversity of Colombia’s flagship bean.

The participation of Café de Colombia yielded important results in branding, positioning, marketing and cooperation issues. As to business opportunities and visibility for the FNC, 55 new contacts were made (67% commercial, 23% of sustainability, and 10% for press).

During the expo, a water project in the department of Tolima, with financing worth USD 800,000 by JDE and an environmental project in Huila with funding worth EUR 250,000 by Lavazza were also announced.
